You know, sometimes people don’t realize there is a line that they’ve crossed. Sometimes it’s a big, glaring neon one, other times it’s only barely there in the sand, but it’s a line nonetheless and it’s deserving of attention.

So, let me describe the line being crossed here.
Sure, it’s an independently-made, fetish-fuel, likely poorly-written module made for d20 systems, presumably under the OGL license for the sake of exposure. It’s also not exactly tasteful, but then again, how many people are actually going to play something called “Tournament of Rapists”? It’s clearly targeting an extremely small audience, yet because Jessica Price finds it offensive to her particular tastes, she feels she has the right to demand it be removed from the public entirely.
In case you missed it, that’s some pretty strong entitlement coming from someone who almost daily flings the word around at people she disagrees with.
Now, sure, there’s offensive content in an online, internet-based store. But if all it takes is a mere suggestion of anything even remotely outside of your comfort zone to cause a fucking cacophony of shrieks about a tangential subject, then the internet itself is most definitely not the place for you. Maybe you should check out the local youth group instead.
The problem is that this is an independent author, who works outside the bounds of Paizo’s corporate structure, getting pulled from probably one of very few sites where they can actually sell their work, because they wanted to let people know that their idea and story would work with the Pathfinder ruleset.
Welcome to Brave New World, where the only things that are allowed are what’s pleasing to the loudest voice.
Seriously, though, Price. Grow the fuck up. You’re attacking a store for the content someone else wrote. It’s childish, it’s pathetic, and it’s the same shit parents are doing to schools and it’s the same shit that is going to cause some seriously 1st Amendment violations in the future.
You do NOT have the right to demand someone else’s hard work be thrown in the trash, just because you don’t like the content. The internet is a vast, vast place, and your misguided war against anything that you don’t like will never, fucking ever be over. All you will accomplish is receiving meaningless sympathy from misinformed teenagers/young adults, and leaving a 30-mile-wide wake of disgust, dissonance, and persons who have been given the status of a social convict.
Make no mistake. This is not about the content of that module. This is about Jessica Price not knowing the difference between voicing her opinion and forcing her opinions down other peoples’ throats.
Which is quite a bit like rape, if you think about it. But that’s okay, because she’s got a vagina, right?
